Monster who disrespects women: Kangana Ranaut attacks Uddhav Thackeray

Actor-turned-politician and BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, calling him a ‘daitya’ (monster) who “suffered this fate because he had disrespected women”.
“I expected such a bad failure of Uddhav Thackeray. We can identify who is a ‘devta (god)’ and who is a ‘daitya (monster)’ depending on if they respect women or work for their welfare,” Ranaut said while speaking to reporters in Mumbai.
After the BJP-led Mahayuti’s massive win in Maharashtra, Ranaut pointed to her past clashes with the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, led by Uddhav Thackeray, when the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished alleged illegal alterations at her Bandra bungalow.
“They demolished my home and verbally abused me,” she alleged, adding that such actions have consequences. “I expected such a bad failure of Uddhav Thackeray,” the BJP MP said.
Most of the alleged unauthorised construction at the actor-MP’s office-cum-residential bungalow in Bandra (West) was demolished by the BMC in September 2020. The Bombay High Court later set aside an order by the Mumbai civic body to demolish her bungalow and held that she is entitled to compensation due to “malafide action” by the BMC.
Speaking about the BJP-led Mahayuti’s decisive victory, Kangana Ranaut lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, calling him ‘invincible’ and a leader destined for the “salvation of the country”. She also asserted that the election results were a lesson for those “talking about breaking the country”.
Highlighting Mahayuti’s win, Ranaut praised the people of Maharashtra for voting for development and stability. “During campaigning, I saw every child chanting ‘Modi-Modi’.
“During campaigning, I saw every child chanting ‘Modi-Modi’. Prime Minister Modi is the tallest leader in the world. The BJP is a brand and, today, the people of India believe in the brand,” the Mandi MP said.
“I believe the Prime Minister (Modi) was born for the salvation of the country and he is invincible,” she added.
The ruling Mahayuti alliance achieved a remarkable victory in Maharashtra, securing 233 out of 288 seats. This resounding saffron-led success dealt a significant blow to the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, which was reduced to a mere 49 seats, leaving it unable to claim the position of Opposition Leader.
